Westhampton Yacht Squadron

 

The story of the Westhampton Yacht Squadron, since it’s founding in 1890, is of people dedicated to sailing and of families passing their enthusiasm as well as their boats from generation to generation.

It is the story of youngsters who learn the sport of sailing, swimming and tennis. Many go on to win honors in local and national competition. It is a wonderful and unique spirit, one of camaraderie and giving.

We also offer a welcome and safe haven to yachtsmen and yachtswomen who visit our bay. We are located on the beautiful Moriches Bay in Remsenburg, NY. Our members and guests enjoy the scenic view of the bay from our well stocked bar and dining facilities. It is rich in history which we proudly pass on to the new generation of sailors.

Commodore's Corner 

Dear Fellow Members:

I am looking forward to being your Commodore for the next two years and all that we can accomplish together!  As we head into the fall, we still have much going on at the club including our Fall Series on Sundays (bar is open 1:00pm-6:00pm),  Friday dinners which continue year round (bar opens at 6:00pm, dinner served at 6:30pm, and there is take out too).  Our BBQ nights will continue on Wednesdays weather permitting.  Although the bar will be closed, we hope everyone will still come down and enjoy sailing, food and friends!  We will have a Line Dancing event in October, and our holiday events and parties will be coming up before you know it!

We continue to rely on our wonderful volunteers to help with racing, events and other many other things going on at the club.  The WYS Volunteer Commitment Form is available for sign up for the fall and winter months and you can access this form by clicking volunteer.   We have several events coming up that you can volunteer for including the Fall Clean up at the end of October.  We appreciate everyone who is able to lend a hand to volunteer.

We are always glad to see friends and families enjoying their time at the club, and making lifelong memories.  I hope everyone stays happy and healthy!
