Westhampton Yacht Squadron

 

The story of the Westhampton Yacht Squadron, since it’s founding in 1890, is of people dedicated to sailing and of families passing their enthusiasm as well as their boats from generation to generation.

It is the story of youngsters who learn the sport of sailing, swimming and tennis. Many go on to win honors in local and national competition. It is a wonderful and unique spirit, one of camaraderie and giving.

We also offer a welcome and safe haven to yachtsmen and yachtswomen who visit our bay. We are located on the beautiful Moriches Bay in Remsenburg, NY. Our members and guests enjoy the scenic view of the bay from our well stocked bar and dining facilities. It is rich in history which we proudly pass on to the new generation of sailors.

Commodore's Corner 

Dear Fellow Members:

Happy Summer!

We are looking forward to all the wonderful events coming up this summer, and are excited that junior sailing, tennis and swim lessons have begun!  If you have not signed up for lessons, click on the lessons registration tab.  We have sailing, swimming and tennis lessons available for Session II beginning on July 29 to August 23, and offer private lessons as well.  

Come down to the club to enjoy our Wednesday Night Grill Night and Informal Sailing.  The chit bar is open from 5-8pm and you can use the BBQ, or bring food to share.   On Friday Nights enjoy a delicious dinner with a different menu each week.  The bar opens at 6pm and dinner is served at 6:30pm.  Be sure to make a reservation for dinner by Tuesday at noon, or you can stop by anytime for a drink and mix and mingle with friends. The monthly menus for dinner are on our website so that you can reserve in advance. 

The WYS Volunteer Commitment Form is available for sign up for July and August and you can access this form by clicking volunteer.   We have many events, swim meets, sailing races, family nights and more that you can volunteer for!

Thank you to everyone who supported and volunteered for our Annual Fundraiser.  It was a wonderful evening!

We have a lot to look forward at the club this summer.  It's a wonderful place to meet friends, spend time with family and make lifelong memories.
